Giniversity courses are 4 hour classes scheduled on Fridays. There are small one-hour classes available and the distillery will entertain additional classes for special events. To learn about these alternative classes, contact the distillery at +61 8 9757 9351, visit their web page here, or by email at ben.tassone@distillery.com.au. Because of the overwhelming popularity of these classes, you need to reserve a space in advance. During the course, you’ll learn about the techniques of distilling, create your own gin version, enjoy a leisurely lunch in the cozy, on site, tavern-like restaurant, partake in a premium gin tasting session, and have your personalised gin creation bottled for take away to sip and enjoy with family and friends. At the end of the class, you be named an honorary Distiller for a Day, and you will have also created a memory for a lifetime.
Margaret River Distilling Company may be one of the youngest distilleries and dining establishments in the Margaret River area, having opened its doors in November 2015, but it has created a marvelous educational Gin appreciation class, called Giniversity. This novel experience is a bucket list, must do adventure for those who enjoy a great standard or specialty crafted gin. And the best part about this hands-on education is that there is no prior knowledge of gin required, other than your enjoyment of this popular spirit so prominently featured in an array of cocktails. This is a one-of-a-kind learning experience, not available anywhere else in all of Western Australia.

Award Winning Distillery
The Margaret River Distilling Company is more than an outstanding food and drink location; the company has a wonderful history. This establishment is the second craft distillery to be opened by its parent distillery, Limeburners of Albany. Limeburners’ claim to fame rests on it being the very first distillery licensed in all of Western Australia to make specialised single malt whisky. Limeburners was established in 2004 and began mass sales in 2005. This is a uniquely Western Australia, private company.
Their finished craft whisky was so well received and exceptional in taste that it has won one award after another, year after year. The latest achievements are being named Australia’s Champion Whisky for 2016 and the World’s Best Craft Whisky for 2017. And now that you are here in Margaret River, you can taste the difference for yourself at their Cellar Door. In addition to their gin and malt whisky, connoisseurs and novices alike can enjoy a tasting session for whiskey, grappe, brandy, absinthe bitters, vodka, and various liqueurs. Imagine all that variety and mouth pleasing tastes in one location.
